It’s good to know that if the blizzard expected tomorrow ends up shutting down our Milwaukee recording studio, Mike and Tony have worked out a plan to stay warm.

I’ve managed to hire great people, and this brings me so much joy.

Mike and Tony keep me young.

Inspired by his earlier post (accompanied by 2012’s Photo Of The Year… granted, it’s only January), cameras are rolling as we peep DJ Northwoods in his natural habitat.

So… this is what I do for a living.

Dave Cooley—who’s produced or mastered M83, Polyphonic Spree, J Dilla, Maritime, and (a personal fave) Silversun Pickups—stopped by the studio today with our dear friend and Burst Collective composer, Malcolm Michiles.
Two kinder, friendlier, handsomer, talenteder gents could not be found in all of Musicdom. Really.

What he said. :)

I leave for two days and this happens?

Matt and Mike are schooling the new girl, Brooke, on Rebecca Black’s “Friday” … and it’s simultaneously the worst thing and the best thing ever.

She’s never heard “Friday”, she’s not familiar with “Hitler Reacts To…”

It’s like watching a little baby deer learn to walk.

"As of Dec 1st I will be joining the guys at Burst HQ as they launch the License Lab. For the time being, I will still be taking on mastering projects as usual (and some mixing as time permits) but I’ll be doing it at Burst HQ. I’m a bit sad to be leaving the studio in Bay View but I’m excited to be working with the guys at Burst/License Lab in their remodeled facility."

Justin Carl Perkins this morning announced he’s joining our studio, Burst HQ, as we prep for the imminent launch of our new music licensing venture, The License Lab.

Pretty stoked to have Justin joining the team here, I have to say.

This is cool news.  Excited to have Justin hanging around.

The Virtual Console Collection (via Steven Slate Digital)
Those of you tumblrmates who are, like me, in the music production business, might really dig this current deal from Steven Slate Digital… $180 gets you their VCC plus an iLok. I’m liking it so much I just got two more for my guys here at Burst HQ.
A really really juicy and kickass plug-in.

Yay! New toys!
