Kel bought a lighting kit today for portraiture and whatnot, with a couple of softboxes.
It inspired me to get my ass moving on something I’ve been wanting to do for a while: build a lightbox for photographing food.
I’ll never be the photographer Kel is, and that’s good, because it’s her thing to be awesome at (and she is) and I never want to horn in on that. I just want to learn to take pictures of one thing well- the food I make (or, in this case, a 3 day old piece of boston cream pie and a tall gin & ginger).
I need to get a brighter lamp, I think, and work on angles, but I’m pretty happy with the results. Also, I need cooler, more interesting plates.
