The site has been taken down, official word is supposed to be announced tomorrow.  WHAT THE HELL NOOOOOOO I’m just going to leave this here and go put all my more important mixes on Box.net. Um.  Am I missing something?  Shouldn’t we all just be grateful that Mediafire allowed us to steal music through them for a while, and continue to steal music from other places?  Can we not try to somehow make the RIAA out to be the bad guy for trying to prevent us from stealing music by shutting down a site that served almost exclusively to allow people to steal music? I mean, let’s not kid ourselves.  We’re stealing.  I do it, you do it.  It’s a cat and mouse game.  At the end of the day, to label the RIAA and the record labels “evil” or to blame them for trying to keep you from breaking their copyrights is disingenuous as best, and childishly myopic at worst.
